Founded in Adelaide in 2014, a stint living and working in London was the catalyst for partners Craig Linke and Lauren Zwaans to start the company. There, Craig had honed his craft as a carpenter working on luxury homes and commercial fit-outs in some of London’s most prestigious locales, including Avenue Road in St John’s Wood, Oxford Street, Saville Row, Kensington, Mayfair, Chiswick Park and Emirates Stadium.

With a passion for both old-world and contemporary architecture, Craig saw a gap in the Adelaide market for a boutique building company that was truly bespoke; a setting where craftspeople could flourish and push boundaries to design and build artisanal homes that will preserve character, improve streetscapes, and endure for generations to come.

Jake Devlin, a carpenter and concreter by trade, joined the company in 2015, quickly taking on a Project Management role on some of Craig Linke’s more complex builds before becoming a partner in the company in 2021.

A second stint living overseas between 2021 to 2023, this time in the United States, saw Craig and Lauren seek inspiration during their extensive travels throughout California, Utah, New York, Boston and Washington DC. From an elevated seaside Hamptons aesthetic, to all-American farmhouses throughout Utah, and the chalets of Lake Tahoe, this inspiration saw the introduction of in-house interior design at Craig Linke.

After supporting behind the scenes since our inception, and following a varied career in marketing, communications, and media - including working with global brands like Meta and Burberry - Lauren joined the company full-time in 2023.

Over the past decade our in-house team has collaborated with local and international artisans and suppliers to bring to life the enduring artisanal homes we are known for.

Your project will be guided by our experienced in-house team of 20, adept at translating both traditional and contemporary aesthetics into beautifully resolved spaces.

Spanning pre-construction guidance through to interior design, building and landscaping — or a tailored combination of these — each project is personalised based on your needs and vision.

Design clients work closely with our in-house, highly skilled interior design team, led by Charlotte Standish, also drawing on the perspective of our senior leadership team to ensure every decision is considered and cohesive.

Our senior leadership team ensure a buildability lens is always front of mind.

All Craig Linke clients receive a high level of support and flexibility, allowing ideas to evolve and be refined as the project progresses.

Building clients are assigned a dedicated Site Supervisor who oversees a pod of Craig Linke staff and specialist contractors, with our senior leadership team always accessible when needed.
